Impressed with photography of Katie Fogg

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

It has been said by Alfred Stieglitz, the father of modern photography, that good photography is “opportunity to the prepared mind”.  The masterpiece printed on the front page, entitled “Bee on the Blossoms”, is the exemplification of this idea.  By 10-year old Katie Fogg, it took first prize at the California State Fair.

I’m reminded of what Francis Ford Coppola said, regarding pure art, that someday little children will be able to bring their views to movie screens, and then cinema will truly be fine art.  This little girl’s inspiration, facilitated through the ease of digital photography, is as close to pure art as it gets.  It’s a new world.  What a privilege to be able to experience this dawn of a new era.
