Lathrop councilman needs to do his homework

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

As a 13- year resident of Lathrop, I hope with each passing election that we the citizens will get a City Council and Mayor that we can be proud of. Not necessarily one that we always agree with, but one that will not embarrass us. Oh well, one can dream.

This past Monday night, our newest, youngest, and consistently least informed City Council member publicly chastised not only city staff, for a perceived preference on their part on an issue before the city council, but also against the Lathrop Police Department about  alleged wrong doings by one or more of our police officers. Never backed up with facts or specifics, this newest council member wants to make it clear to anyone who will listen, when things do not meet his level of acceptance.  A piece of advice: You would be better served to do your homework before coming to council meetings thus not having to ask as many simplistic questions as you do, take an accounting class or two, and listen more to what your constituents have to say and less about what you believe we want to hear.

As Groucho Marx once said, “Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies”.
