Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
Reading your column in Saturday’s Bulletin about the right to farm I am in agreement with you. People have lost the connection between agriculture and the food supply.
I was born here in the valley in 1945 and have seen many changes in the agriculture field having operated a 100-acre farm until 2000. While some ag operations do smell the odors are not dangerous to your health. As far as I am concerned if someone does not want to smell the odors don’t live near them.
The same goes for people moving near railroads, airports and freeways. If we are going to have a functional society with niceties there are tradeoffs. With some patience and tolerance it will work.
