In order to reduce the amount of trash that is no longer “recyclable” I am going to cancel my subscription to the Bulletin when renewal comes up this spring.

The report that the Bulletin published last summer that stated the solid waste department had at least one manager too many — a manager that really did nothing — that is a waste of taxpayer/ratepayer money and just may be part of the problem.

Turning the waste (garbage) and recycle system over to a private contractor like Waste Management would be an alternative to look at. History shows that real profit making business is more efficient than any government entity.
