Great article (“Miracle on the 120 Bypass”, Friday, Dec. 11), now we just got to get our home values back up. I wish the city would use some of this tax revenue to entice homebuyers to buy in Manteca by some sort of down payment assistance program.
Bring this up with the mayor.
Editor’s note: The City of Manteca actually has put aside redevelopment agency tax receipts for down payment assistance for first-time buyers. They are in the process of helping between 20 and 30 households buy their first home from among Manteca’s foreclosed properties.
