Post says Trump making 5 false claims a day
letter to editor

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

In Tuesday’s Bulletin in the Your Views column, Mr. Meeuwse responded to my letter concerning his letter in which he erroneously compared Trump’s Gross Domestic Product  figures to Obama’s.  For some reason, Mr. Meeuwse included a claim framed around his statement “Also when discussing Presidents that have lied” that had nothing to do with quarterly GDP figures, but instead about Obamacare. I found this odd because I only accused Trump of exaggerating his numbers, not necessarily lying. But since Mr. Meeuwse brings it up, I feel it is my responsibility to respond.

According to the Washington Post, which I will go out on a limb to assume, with all due respect to Mr. Meeuwse,  that he probably considers ‘fake news’, Trump has made 4,229 false or misleading claims during the last 558 days. He had been making 5 false claims per day, but in June and July of this year, the president upped that average to 16 lies per day. These are not my figures, but those of a well-respected (by most rational people) national news organization of long standing.

Make of that what you will.
