Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
Larry Baca has made a statement about this country having more Democrats. Actually, a large percentage of the population are Independent since the Republicans have acted in the past like little Democrats.
The Democrats in this city have suggested the Republicans need to follow them. I say “no way.” This is what has gotten the Republican party in trouble. They need to return to the fiscal and moral conservative wing of their party to give the people an alternative to the liberal wing of the Democrats. Many people left the Republican party and became Independents. These people want a Conservative party. This was proven in the recent Gallup Poll. Thus far in 2009, 40% of Americans interviewed in national Gallup Poll surveys describe their political views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This represents a slight increase for conservatism in the U.S. since 2008, returning it to a level last seen in 2004. The 21% calling themselves liberal is in line with findings throughout this decade, but is up from the 1990s.
The Obama Administration has no checks and balances from either congress or the liberal press; but the honeymoon is about to be over. I believe soon the people will see the problem of liberalism and the Democrats will not have any one to blame except themselves.
The people can see how we gave billions to GM to stop them from going bankrupt and then they went bankrupt. They can see the political paybacks and wasted money being spent as the deficit continues to rise. They can see how our military gets investigated while terrorists get Miranda Rights. They can see an administration that accuses our veterans of being possible terrorists while real terrorists get constitutional rights and attorneys. They can see how we cannot put water up into the nose of three terrorists while the terrorists can behead people and blow them up with suicide bombers. They can see the lies from Congress House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claim that other terrorist techniques work but she doesn’t know what they are.
They can see how the taxpayer is the one who has to bail out this corrupt government. They can see how Chrysler gets $10 billion in aid for a company of 30,000 employees, which is the same as $333,333. per employee. They can see how the Democrats want to make us into a socialist country where the government has control on the people. They can see the lie that it is Bush’s fault cannot be used anymore.
They can see we are dealing with a president who has exhibited the biggest case of fraud in World History by using a legal team to stop a requirement to show he is a natural born citizen with a real birth certificate. They are beginning to see a honeymoon is about over and the 40% conservatives along with the 35% moderates will not be happy. Larry, that is 75% of the country. Now if only the Republican party can return to its roots instead of following the Democrats up the cliff they are about to fall off.
