Why is it members of the City Council start making their views known right before an election?  From where I sit, everything that they try and make people believe is nothing but story telling.  A couple of prime examples would be Steve DeBrum, and Vince Hernandez telling the people of Manteca that we need more firefighters and police officers when they both were on the City Council when 12 Police Officers were fired. 

Also in my opinion, one hot issue in this city is the use of illegal fireworks, and how disruptive, and dangerous they are.  No one wants to address that as an issue.  A couple of months back I wrote an email to each City Council member, and Mayer Weatherford, and asked each one of them what they plan on doing about enforcing the laws in Manteca that pertain to illegal fireworks.  I received not one response, so I’m assuming they don’t care.  They all claim how much they’ve done for the City of Manteca, and in reality they’ve done very little. You never hear about what they have supposedly done, until its election time.  Vote wisely people.  We need to take out the trash.
