Secular alliance volunteer appreciates Christian turnout

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I would like to thank the members of the Christian Worship Center and A Place of Refuge who attended the Stockton Area Atheists and Freethinkers’ Jan. 15 Colloquium on the Double Standards for Jesus, featuring Matt McCormick.  The wonderful people, great conversation, and live entertainment helped make for a very enjoyable and diverse community event, both inside and outside of the Manteca Library.

It is very fitting that such an occasion took place at a library — a building that was once considered the premiere locale for intellectual debate.  And it is even more encouraging that so many individuals are concerned with moving the standards for quality and quantity of evidence into the domain of public discourse.

In appreciation, I am donating a copy of the speaker’s book to the Manteca Public Library.
