There can be no divided allegiance here

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
America has lost her identification.  The early immigrants who came to America loved America and did not call themselves Italian-Americans, Spanish-Americans, Irish-Americans, or Asian-Americans. They called themselves Americans, adapting to one culture and one language to love one country — America.

During our world wars, Americans and political parties came together in nationalism and unity; but what has changed? We have now become a nation of multiculturalism, where through diversity our government has to adapt to each culture rather that the cultures adapting to America.

We have allowed an Islamic woman to take her driver’s license photo wearing a burqa because it offends her belief.  We cannot survive as a nation being all things to all people.  This diversity really has created disunity, which is destroying the strength of our culture.  Today’s multiculturalism has those who are loyal to their own culture and not America.  It is the uni-culture that is our strength where everyone is proud to be an American.

Most Americans want the uni-culture while 84 percent want English to be our official language; but our politicians ignore the voice of the people. Yet, 53 countries have declared English as their official language.

We have not given any of these other cultures a reason to assimilate into our culture since our government tries to become all things to all people.  We want our government to run our health care even though our government has already ran Social Security, Medicare, Medical, and twelve other entitlement programs into bankruptcy.  America had no national debt less than 100 years ago; but now our government has a national debt is 12 trillion dollars, which each citizens share of the debt is about $40,000.   America is broke!!!

Yet, our government still can’t figure out how to secure the borders or balance a yearly budget while our government continues to waste billions of dollars or gives billions of taxpayer’s money to fight AIDS in Africa while millions of taxpaying Americans suffer from heart disease and battle cancer.  The needs of our military veterans have become an afterthought even though they deserve the best resources for their unselfish sacrifice to serve America.
Common sense would also be for our local, state, and federal government to set aside money for a national emergency, such as an earthquake, which experts claim is a matter of “when” and not “if” it will occur. We need to lie down our global burden and rebuild America.

We should not be the welfare department to the world while neglecting our own country. We should not give compassion to illegal immigrants and no compassion to the over burdened taxpaying family. (Resources being used to feed, school,  incarcerate and provide health care for many of these illegal immigrants are sucking our taxpaying resources, which is a reason our state cannot pass a balance budget and only 40 percent of high school graduates can read at a fourth grade level.)
Activist judges have ignored the will of the people as well as our history, culture, the Declaration of Independence and every other founding document to remove God from public life.  The founding fathers were clear that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.”  The ACLU has passed on the lie of “separation of church and state”.  This phase is not even in the Constitution. It was a separation intended to protect government from control by religion and to protect religion from control by government, not to build a confrontational wall to keep government and religion separated.  Separation from God was never intended by our founding fathers.

Political parties of change will not secure our borders, force employer verification, or stop taxpayer funding to illegals. These progressive, global thinkers are traitors that tolerate the behavior that is destroying our society.

In 1907, President Theodore Roosevelt stated: “There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all.  We have room for but one flag, the American flag...we have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people”

No matter where our ancestors came from, we are Americans.  We need to stop dividing Americans against each other.  Be proud of your heritage; but love America, and your opportunity to pursue the American Dream.
