Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

With the certified election results finally in, and the holidays now behind us, I wanted to take this time to say ‘thank you’ to the many people that supported me in the November election for Manteca Unified School District Board Trustee.

To the voters that marked their ballots in my favor, I am humbled by the trust you put in me and promise that I will give the job my best effort.  To the MUSD employee groups (MEA and CSEA) who sponsored the two Candidates Forums, thank you for the opportunity to answer your questions and for your service to the District.  To Superintendent Messer and the MUSD administrative staff who worked diligently to make all the candidates comfortable and to answer our questions, I appreciate your time.  To all the other candidates, successful or not, your willingness to step forward in hopes of serving is admirable and worthy of everyone’s praise.

Closer to home… to the friends and acquaintances that walked the precincts and spread the word, your efforts are greatly appreciated and I hope to reaffirm your belief in me over the coming four years.  To Bill Neuman who encouraged me and helped me with the inevitable paperwork that comes with running for office, thanks my friend!  Finally, to my wife and kids, your support and patience were, and are, so important to me – thank you most of all.

There remain more challenging days ahead for Manteca Unified and many difficult issues to tackle.  However, through the involvement of parents, the honest efforts of the students, the hard work of the teachers, administrators and all other District staff, and the diligence of the entire Board, MUSD’s future will remain a bright one.
