Were to blame for court order to release prisoners

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

I just read Dennis Wyatt’s column (“Steal cars galore & get out of jail free As a bird ruling” on Tuesday, May 24, 2011) on releasing prisoners early.

Allow me to help you with a couple of things. First, the reason this is happening is because the “honest people,” as you put it, spent, stole, or otherwise mismanaged the taxpayer monies (I’m a taxpayer) they should have been saving, soundly investing, and showing some restraint in regard to spending!

This isn’t a one-time deal either, the powers-that-be have been grossly negligent and many times criminal for decades! I’m speaking about any and all governments in this great nation of ours.

Secondly, the people in prison are being released because of this little document called the Constitution of the United States. There is no room for these people, and you cannot house people in cramped conditions like rats no matter what they have done. Otherwise you risk being just those you believe to be less than.

This is not the fault of the criminal, it’s the fault of you, me, and the powers-that-be for doing us all wrong in their criminal and reckless dealings! This whole deal is a societal problem, not a segment problem. We are all responsible!

There are more crooks on Capitol Hill than downtown Stockton! Yet they continue to get away with their crimes and you turn a blind eye.

One more thought, these criminals will be getting out of prison one day, because the truth is, “most” get out. I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want a guy running around in my neighborhood after being treated in a fashion that would make him more violent or more angry! How about you, sir?
