Why is Memorial Day event being moved?

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,
What in the world is Carlon Perry thinking when he decided to move the Memorial Day event from East Union Cemetery to the parking lot of the Moffatt Community Center?
There are no headstones or markers of the fallen soldiers, Marines, sailors or airmen in the parking lot. Where does he expect the loved ones to place the flowers and flags for their veteran?! The Memorial Day ceremony has always been held at East Union Cemetery for as long as I can remember. There are many, many veterans, families with loved ones at East Union and the volunteers at the cemetery who are extremely upset with Perry’s decision.
Please let the citizens of our community know that the vast majority of Veterans do not condone his actions. Memorial Day is the time to pay our respects to those who gave their all or have passed on to a better place and it should be done where they are resting eternally, not a damn parking lot. A small group of us are meeting at the Cemetery on Memorial Day, 10 a.m., where we will hold a ceremony befitting those Veterans who are no longer with us.
