Write Denham to push for ADA lawsuit reform

Editor, Manteca Bulletin,

Congratulations to the City Council for adding Manteca to the list of cities who have taken a stand against frivolous lawsuits and Americans with Disabilities Act law abuse.

Since 1989, Bill Harris and the Tuff Boy family have fought against wrongful and malicious prosecution. We continue to do so as we face no less than three abusive legal actions at this point in time.

For those who have read the Manteca Bulletin articles relating to the current ADA inspired lawsuit abuse, we urge Mantecans and others to write Congressman Jeff Denham to press for ADA reform which will prevent the wrongful acts that are becoming a plague on Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon at this time.

In past years ADA targeting has been set upon countless other cities in this state. It will only continue to grow as “copy cat plaintiffs” join in this legal mania.

There is a simple solution as outlined by the Manteca City Council: Allow business to receive a warning with a fair time to become ADA compliant before any person can file a court action against the property and business owners.

The economy doesn’t need business destruction at the whim of plaintiff greed.
