Colony Oak update before board tonight

The Ripon Unified school board tonight  will receive an update on the Colony Oak Elementary Modernization Project.

Khush Gheyara, who is the chief financial officer at Caldwell Flores Winters, Inc., and Senior Project Manager Deanna Shirlock of CT Brayton & Sons will provide the report during the 7 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Thus far, the demolition of the hard-court areas has been completed, with the building pads already being built and certified for this voter-approved Measure G project.

The leach field and septic tank connection to the existing campus lines are also done along with the installation of a temporary lift station.

Current work in progress includes the underground utility lines and electrical coupled with the pre-framing of the buildings.

CFW is anticipating that all projects within the Measure G program will be completed at the end of the year.

uSuperintendent Sigrid ‘Ziggy’ Robeson will recognize the Ripon High cheer squad for finishing in first place at Deer Valley and Del Campo regional competitions.

uRHS Biology teacher Ann Pendleton and Principal Keith Rangel will talk about the New Generation Science Standards, which is RHS in collaboration with the San Joaquin Office of Education recommending a three-year science requirement for graduation.

uKathy Coleman, who is RUSD’s director of curriculum and categorical programs, will provide a report on the third annual Professional Learning Conference held Jan. 8.
