Concrete up next for Ripon bleachers

Progress continues on the Bleacher and Press Box Replacement Project at Stouffer Field.

At the March 12 Ripon Unified school board meeting, Andy Strickland reported that the next step at this point was the scheduled pouring of concrete for the new structure.

The district’s maintenance director also indicated that the construction of the bleachers and galvanized railing has also been completed.

Work appears on schedule for the project – included here are the bleacher system, press box and fair alarm – to be completed in April.

In May, Ripon’s Run Half & Quarter Marathon, 5K benefiting the Ripon Community Athletic Foundation and the Ripon High Class of 2018 graduation will both take place at the RHS stadium.

The monthly meeting also included:

uFrank Jerome, RUSD’s Chief Operation Officer, in announcing a positive certification, said the district will be able to meet its financial obligation for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year along with the two subsequent years based on the Second Interim Report.

uTrustees reappointed Richard ‘Dick’ Durham to the Measure G Citizens’ Oversight Committee for another two terms. The retired educator fills the role of “Senior Citizen.”

uThe district enrollment for the sixth month (Dec. 25 to Jan. 19) was at 3,170, which was 20 more from the previous month and a plus 88 from that of the previous year at this time. Ripon High had a reported 904 students followed by Ripon Elementary (476), Park View (465), Colony Oak (435), Ripona (426), and Weston (426).
