The Ripon Chamber of Commerce office is moving to a new location in the historic downtown from its present site in the 900 block of West Main Street – the onetime location of an early Bank of Stockton building.

Chamber President Tamra Spade said the move will take place Dec. 20 to the smaller location at 104 Stockton Avenue – the former home of Barbara’s Dress Shop.

“It is smaller but we will be closer with our members,” she said. “We should be open by the first of January.”

An open house and coffee is being planned by the chamber staff for Jan. 5 at the new location.

“I do believe it will help us save money with a lesser rent to pay,” she noted.

The chamber now has a staff of three plus a number of volunteers serving the needs of the office.
