September has arrived, and for farmers across the San Joaquin Valley that means one thing – harvest time. From corn to tomatoes, trucks and tractors will be filing down country roads with produce and product. Long hours in hopes of reaching long benefits, with many a farmer putting in a 16 hour day until, well, until the rains come in December and you can no longer get onto your fields.
