Honeymoons over, going back to gym

Messersmith is keeping a weekly journal, highlighting the strides and struggles of his fitness journey. These are his thoughts and feelings shared with you.

 

Day 260-266

This was a week off of reality for me. No diet, no workout, no care and a much needed break. A week in paradise it was. Although a few days I had the itch to workout but did not get the time to go through with it. Instead I enjoyed my time in Maui with relaxing and resting my body. A great week off to say the least and it was spent with the only person I wanted it to be with, my wife.

Day 267

After flying in yesterday it is time to get back to reality. Time to get my meal prep and diet renewed. Luckily I still had the week off of work so it made getting back into the gym easier. I got my day started back at Core with a good bootcamp. I quickly found out that Hawaii kicked my butt and getting the workout complete was a bigger challenge then I thought it would be. I felt slow and way out of shape but accomplished when the workout was complete. After that I went to my dad’s house and visited with him for a while before returning home to relax and eat before going back to Core where I got in a good chest and tricep workout to end my day.

Day 268

My schedule is still thrown off and going to sleep and waking up have been a struggle. I got up a little late but still made it to Core to start my day. It was a great back and bicep day. The rest of the day was spent with house choirs and recuperating with my wife.

Day 269

Another day started off at Core with ab workout that had me ready for a nap by the end of the workout. After that it was a day spent running errands and some meal prep to end the day.

Day 270

Today was the day waking up on time did not happen. I slept through my alarm and spent the day relaxing until about 4 p.m. where I then went to Core to get in a leg day. It was a day of heavy lifting on leg day. I was walking funny by the end of that day. After that I went to hang out with some friends and have a good time to end the day.

Day 271

Frisby Friday! It has been a while since I played with the 9:30 class and it was a great game. It was a great workout and a fun time. After that I went home to get ready for a family barbecue at my sister-in-law’s house to end the night.

Day 272

Sleep is all I wanted to do. Which is what I did but when I woke up it was time to get going. I had to catch up on yard work followed by shampooing the carpets. Which took all day. I then decided to shampoo my car seat and flooring as well to end my night. It was time to get rest because I was back to reality. Work tomorrow.

Day 273

First day back to work. Up early, meals prepped and packed for a 16 hour day. Luckily it was an easy day and we still got to watch some football. I stuck to my meals and hit all my goals for the day. Time to get back into a full week of reality.
