Day 347: Sitting in a hotel room after driving for 12 hours today. All I want to do is get home and get back to eating regular food on a regular time schedule...and to be able to drink as much water as I want. This year is quickly coming to a close and I really want to finish it up right. I always tell my children that it’s not how you start, but how you finish....I want to finish strong.
Day 348: Home just for this afternoon....long enough to do some laundry, pay some bills and take a quick walk around the neighborhood. Also, had some time to run to the store and pick up some real food for dinner. So nice not to eat in the car or in a restaurant as well as sleeping in your own bed. Back to the car tomorrow.
Day 349: Headed to LA for the Rose Bowl. First stop is Santa Monica for the pep rally and some sightseeing. Is it just me or does anyone else feel like they need to have a perfect body and a perfect face to live in these places??? My husband tells me that if I spent a lot of money that I could look like everyone else, but still I know that there is a lot of working out going on down here!
Day 350: Rose Bowl! Nothing like sitting by Robert (trainer) during the Rose Bowl to curb my appetite! Good thing the group had those disgusting cheesy, steak fries before he arrived. We were also offered a ride in a golf cart after the game to our car, but declined that as well. I wish I would have had my pedometer on today because I would have logged well more than 10,000 steps....not to mention standing through a 3 hour game.
Day 351: Back in the car....again!!! But, the car means we are headed home and as we are driving my husband is talking about the nice, clean meal he is going to make when we get home. Chicken and veggies sounds so good right now.
Day 352: As I am scrolling through Facebook I am enjoying reading all the motivational sayings that come with the new year. I am also scrolling through people’s New Year’s resolutions which causes me to reflect back to this time one year ago when I submitted my application for the year of you. I remember it like it was yesterday and am blown away that it has been a year, but I remember sitting in bed writing the email saying why I wanted to be chosen. High blood pressure, sleep apnea, overweight....I remember debating whether or not I should hit the send button. It was close to midnight and the application was due. Should I risk pushing the button? It was a serious debate as I wasn’t sure I wanted to expose my normally quiet and reserved self. At that moment though I remembered the old saying, “if you keep doing what you’ve been doing you’ll keep getting the same result.” I pushed the button.
Day 353: Who hears of leaving for a volleyball tournament at 5:30 am and not returning home until close to 9:00 at night! My daughter is playing for a new club this year and I am happy to say that the food critics are on this team! Only healthy snacks and foods throughout the day! There was also plenty of time for my husband and I to take several walks around the old airbase where they were playing. This could be a good volleyball season.
