Cal State Bakersfield holds off Pacific

STOCKTON (AP) — Stephon Carter and Tyrone White each scored 17 points and Cal State Bakersfield held off Pacific 76-73 on Tuesday night.

Bakersfield (11-9) led 59-42 midway through the second half, but Pacific rallied and took the lead by a point twice in the final minutes.

The Roadrunners' Donald Johnson scored inside with 49 seconds remaining to put Bakersfield in front 74-73, and Mo Hughley made two free throws with 10 seconds left after a Pacific turnover to seal the victory.

Issiah Grayson had 11 points and Johnson scored 10 for Bakersfield. Rashad Savage added eight points and 13 rebounds for the Roadrunners, who also beat Pacific 83-53 in Bakersfield on Dec. 22.

Lorenzo McCloud had 19 points and five assists to lead Pacific (5-12). Markus Duran scored 11 points, Ross Rivera scored 10 and Travis Fulton had 10 points and 14 rebounds for the Tigers.
