WESTON RANCH – Goalkeeper Mayra Ambriz had eight saves and the Weston Ranch defense played its best contest of the season, as the Cougars battled McNair to a scoreless tie Thursday at home.
“The first shutout in school history,” Cougars head coach Carlos Gaspar said of his team’s defensive effort. “The defense was just awesome.
“We still have a lot of room for improvement, but McNair was a good team.”
Weston Ranch (0-1-1) kicks off the Manteca Tournament this afternoon.
First up is a match with Pleasant Grove starting at 3 p.m.
