Delta Rebels awards banquet set for Friday

The Delta Rebels youth football organization will hold its annual awards banquet Jan. 30 at the East Union High cafeteria.
Junior Novice and Novice will run from 6 to 7 p.m., and Junior Varsity and Varsity will run from 7 to 8 p.m.
COWBOYS: The Manteca Cowboys youth football organization of the National Youth Football League is conducting open signups starting Feb. 6 at Straw Hat Pizza in Manteca from 6-8 p.m.
Other registration dates are: Feb. 19; March 5 and 19; April 2, 16 and 30; and May 14 and 28.
The Cowboys offer four levels of competition: starts (6-8, max weight 115 pounds), rookie (9-10, max weight of 140 and lighter 11-year-olds), junior varsity (11-12, max weight of 155 and lighter 13-year-olds), and varsity (12-14 with an unlimited weight restriction except for ball-carrying weight of 185 pounds). Varsity players must be 14 as by Aug. 1.

JR. BUFFALOES: The Manteca Jr.  Buffaloes youth football and cheer program will hold signups for 7-14-year-olds Jan. 31 from 1-4 p.m. at David and Sylvia’s Restaurant located on 1020 N. Main St.
The Jr. Buffaloes’ next sign-up date is Feb. 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. back at David and Sylvia’s.

BASEBALL
BABE RUTH: Registration will take place at Straw Hat Pizza (1238 N. Main St.) in Manteca. The dates are: Feb. 4 from 6-8 p.m.; and Feb. 7 from noon to 2 p.m.
Registration fees are $130 for 13-, 14- and 15-year-old divisions; and $150 for 16-18-year-olds.
MANTECA LL: Manteca Little League’s final player tryouts are on Jan. 31 at Lincoln Park on Powers Ave.
Times are as follows: 11 – 12 year olds, 9:30 to 11 a.m. 9 – 10 year olds, 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. 7 – 8 year olds, 1:15 to 3 p.m.
Opening Day and Ceremonies are March 7.

SPLL: Spreckels Park Little League is holding tryouts for Minor and Major Divisions Saturday, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon at Brock Elliott School (all minor & major players must tryout to qualify for All Stars).
Any 13 to 16 year old who is interested in signing up for Junior or Senior League Baseball, should sign up with Speckles Park Little League.  Try-outs will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 9:00 a.m. at Sierra High.

SWIMMING
The Manteca High swim team will host a Fagundes dinner on Tuesday, Feb. 10.  Dinner may be picked up between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the Manteca High front parking lot.  
Tickets are $12 and include tri-tip, chicken, potato salad and a roll.

BIG LEAGUE DREAMS
Big League Dreams Sports Park in Manteca is now taking registrations for both their indoor soccer and softball leagues.
Men’s, women’s and co-ed leagues will be offered for all levels of play. Leagues are available Sunday through Saturday.

MFC: The Manteca Futbol Club will hold tryouts for Boys and Girls teams ages 7 to 14 on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Northgate Park, and Jan. 31 from noon to 2 p.m. at Chadwick Park.

The Manteca/USBC is holding the Annual City Tournament over two weekends: Feb. 7 and 8, and Feb. 14 and 15.
The tournament is open to any person that bowls in a league at the Manteca Family Fun Center, or any person that resides in our area.
