Five Ripon Christian standouts earned all-Southern League first-team honors, while three others made the second team.

The third-place Knights (5-2 SL, 9-3 overall) were led by Jonah Lewis, who led SL receivers with 44 catches, 989 yards and 18 touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior totaled 24 touchdowns, adding three more rushing and three on special-teams returns.

Joining him on the first-team list is 6-6, 215-pound tight end Ty Beidleman, who had 344 yards receiving and four touchdowns. Defensive back Connor McGovern (71 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries), defensive lineman Chad Kamper (68 tackles, 4.0 sacks, two forced fumbles, two recovered) and offensive lineman Eron Roen round out Ripon Christian’s first-team selections.

Two-time Defensive Player of the Year Will Kamps (100 tackles, 10 sacks, four forced fumbles), inside linebacker Jake Beukelman (131 tackles) and running back Derek Dotinga (940 yards, 12 touchdowns) were named to the second team.

Ripon Christian lost to league champion Orestimba (7-0, 11-1) and Gustine (6-1, 10-2) by a combined nine points and has a notable nonleague victory over Stone Ridge Christian, the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII champion and NorCal Bowl Game qualifier.

Orestimba garnered the most major awards in the SL with Aaron Souza earning Coach of the Year. Running back/linebacker Austin Martins was voted MVP, quarterback Joe Sheldon is Best Offensive Player and Homar Ruiz is the Offensive Lineman of the Year.

Gustine inside linebacker Brandon Labry was named Best Defensive Player, and teammate Fabian Morales was tabbed Defensive Lineman of the Year.
