The Sierra and Weston Ranch girls golf teams capped the first half of the Valley Oak League season playing against each other last Thursday and teed off the second half on Monday.

And the result was the same — a blowout victory for Sierra.

The VOL’s third-place team improved to 6-2 with its 254-345 rout of the Cougars at Manteca Park Golf Course.

Lexus Barnes was low medalist for a second straight match, carding an 8-over 45. Vanessa Rodriguez (49), Krystal Rayevich (51), McKenna Doyle (53) and Kayla Wilson (56) all recorded better scores than Weston Ranch’s top finisher. Tayler Mar finished with a 63 for Weston Ranch (1-5).

East Union 220, Manteca 295

Just four days after breaking the VOL course record at Manteca Park, Brooke Riley led first-place East Union (8-0) to another win against Manteca (3-5). The low medalist posted a 38.

Jordan Vinson added a 40, Breanna Perkins a 45, Brittany Ugalino a 46 and Rebecca Alexander a 51. Kaylie Grimes placed fourth with a 49 for the Buffaloes (3-5). Katie Hankins (50) was the only other Manteca player to post a sub-60 score.
