Buff defense scores 3 TDs in win

Manteca scored three defensive touchdowns Saturday in a 48-0 shellacking of Christian Brothers of Sacramento in non-league freshman football action at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Angel Garay scored two of those defensive touchdowns in the second quarter – one on a 26-yard interception return and another on a 40-yard fumble return. Gerardo Escobar capped the day’s scoring with a 40-yard fumble return in the third period.
Trabron Russell was the offensive workhorse for the Buffalo offense, gaining 128 yards on just four carries with touchdown runs of 21 and 44 yards. Jacob Dejesus (five carries, 39 yards) scored on runs of 3 and 26 yards and Evan Ott added 62 yards on six carries.
Garay tallied 10 tackles, Leo Bonilla (interception) had five, Aaron Craig had three sacks, Dom Rea (interception) two tackles and Egnacio Vera, Gerardo Escobar and Adrian Gonzales each had an interception.

East Union 34, Ceres 8
The Lancers scored in every quarter Thursday at Dino Cunial Stadium.
Eric Morales scored on three consecutive carries for East Union of 16, 61 and 52 yards and finished with nine carries for 168 yards. Daniel Morales (8 of 14 for 59 yards) had touchdown throws for the Lancers of 21 yards to Angelino Sanchez and 19 yards to Matthew Slight.

The Timberwolves bounced back with two fourth-quarter touchdowns Thursday.
Victor Murillo got the first Sierra touchdown on a quarterback lead from 2 yards out to come within 14-7. Steven Eaves tied the game with a 25-yard interception return.
The Timberwolves had the ball as time expired but could get no closer than midfield.
