Manteca High’s sophomore football team trailed at the half, after the third and the first 10 minutes of the fourth. Hector Soto’s touchdown and two-point conversion completed the Buffaloes’ 29-28 come-from-behind win over visiting Oakdale last Friday.

Oakdale was up on Manteca 28-13 early in the fourth quarter.

The Buffaloes went for the victory trailing Oakdale by a point, passing on the opportunity to go for the tie and going for the victory.

Soto led the Buffaloes with 151 yards rushing and another 34 through the air with three touchdowns. Dominick Pisano was also instrumental in the Buffaloes’ success, hauling in a touchdown pass from Greg Jones on top of quarterbacking the Manteca offense to the win.

The Buffaloes will try and continue Valley Oak League play with a victory over the host East Union Lancers Friday. The contest will culminate the VOL season for both squads.
