Buffs run wild in first half, score 51 points

Manteca put up 51 first-half points Thursday in a 67-0 shellacking of host Sierra in Valley Oak League freshman football action at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

The Buffaloes used a balanced attack with four players scoring two touchdowns – Jacob DeJesus on a 66-yard punt return and 38-yard run, Angel Garay on a pair of 15-yard runs, Leo Bonilla on a 1-yard run and 42-yard pass from Tyler Garlets and Dom Rea on a 30-yard interception return and 20-yard pass from Ryan Ward.  

Trabron Russell started the scoring parade for Manteca with a 52-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

DeJesus had five carries for 98 yards, Russell five carries for 18 yards, Garay 53 yards on eight carries and Bonilla 31 yards on four carries.

Rea had a sack and forced fumble, Junior Escobar three tackles and an interception and Garay five tackles and a fumble recovery.
