Sierra’s Jacob Allen reached over a Central Valley of Ceres defender to snag a pass from Sonny Elder to complete a 71-yard touchdown play for the lone Timberwolves touchdown Friday in a 7-6 non-league junior varsity win for Sierra at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

The Timberwolves defense dominated most of the game with Jacob Martinez (fumble recovery) and Christian Threadgill making seven tackles apiece. Lorenzo Reyes and Aydan Horn added six tackles each and Jacob Lopez made three stops.

Daniel Covarrubias grabbed an interception set up with a ferocious rush by Threadgill.

 

Manteca 62,

Downey of Modesto 0

MODESTO – Krys Charles was on target for Manteca, throwing for three touchdowns behind more than 200 yards, running for one touchdown and catching another. 

Charles was 6 of 6 passing for 205 yards along with four carries for 12 yards and had two touchdown throws of 45 yards to Javier Flores (two receptions, 90 yards) and one of 36 yards to Aidan Nicolas (two receptions, 73 yards; six carries, 57 yards). Charles scored on a 2-yard run and on a 64-yard pass from Flores.

Nicolas got the game started on the right foot when he returned the opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown. Victor Martinez (six carries, 56 yards) and Alejandro Tornero each scored on a 5-yard run and Calvin Ramsey (two carries, 11 yards) scored from 9 yards out. 

Destin De La Torre made five tackles and recovered a fumble for the Buffaloes with David Vega (three tackles) forcing and recovering a fumble and Charles (two tackles) making an interception. 

 

Ripon 6, Sonora 0

SONORA – The Indians pulled out a heart-stopping win at Dunlavy Field when Caleb Johnson snagged a 60-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Wood with only 95 seconds left in the game. 

 

East Union 27, Napa 6 

NAPA – Lane Cefalu ran for more than 100 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Lancers on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. 

Cefalu had 12 carries for 101 yards with touchdown runs of 5 and 9 yards. Zelmer Vedder (five carries, 33 yards) added a 19-yard touchdown run and Tyler Diaz scored from 12 yards out.

East Union’s Jesus Gomez was 6 of 9 passing for 163 with Vedder making two catches for 85 yards. 

Jonathan Castenada paced the Lancers defense with eight tackles. Cefalu added seven stops and 

Kaleb Bernardin mad four stops and recovered a fumble.
