Mason James and Isaiah Sholund were responsible for more than 300 of the 400-plus yards that East Union racked up Friday in a 27-0 homecoming win over Sierra in sophomore Valley Oak League action a Dino Cunial Field.
After a scoreless first quarter Sholund (14 carries 101 yards) got the Lancers on the board in the second quarter with a 29-yard touchdown run and James (24 carries 208 yards) gave East Union a 12-0 halftime lead with a 1-yard touchdown run.
In the second half James added a 5-yard touchdown run and Andrew Sena – who had a shutout-sealing interception in the end zone to preserve the shutout – scored on a 4-yard run. Sena had seven carries for 55 yards.
Matthew Pilkay (3 of 4 passing, 34 yards; five carries, 12 yards) directed the Lancers offense that produced 411 yards behind the offensive line of Jaysen Reindel, Nick Sims, Elias Andrews, Ryan Austin, Nathan Garcia and Isiah Lacanglacang.
Devonta Scott was in on 12 tackles for East Union, Cruz Padilla ten and Jaysen Riendel four. James played very well on defensive.
J.P. Peterson and David Reyes had good games on defense for the Timberwolves.

Kyle Rachels had four touchdown passes for the host Buffaloes and teammate Matt Ender had three scores.
Rachel’s was 7 of 9 for 136 yards with one of those touchdown tosses going to Ender, two to Zack Chamberlain and one to Jacob Moon. Ender ran for another touchdown and returned an interception for his third with Vincent Ferro and Cam Allison each adding a rushing touchdown.
Ender had two interceptions and Ferro one.

Ramon Khweiss scored the lone touchdown for the host Spartans on a 94-yard kickoff return at Bennie Gatto Field.
Ayiende Dukes and Khweiss had five tackles each for Lathrop, Haley Cosmos-Jackson four and Antonio Marquez three.
