Matthew Pilkay threw for one touchdown and ran for another Friday to lead East Union to a 22-6 win over host Lathrop in sophomore Valley Oak League action at Bennie Gatto Field. 

 Pilkay (5 of 8 passing, 158 yards; four carries, 20 yards) scored on a 10-yard run in the second quarter to put the Lancers ahead 16-0. Pilkay capped the day’s scoring with a 45-yard scoring pass to Tyler Slaughter. Mason James (25 carries, 125 yards) got East Union on the board with a 4-yard scoring run in the first period.

Jacob Dutra had a 39-yard reception for the Lancers.

Cruz Padilla led the East Union defense with 12 tackles. Devonta Scott added six tops – all for a loss – with Jaysen Riendel making five stops, Elias Andrews four, Jesse Anzar an interception and Dakota Wright forcing a fumble. 

 

Manteca 60, Kimball 0

Kyle Rachels connected on three touchdown passes for the visiting Buffaloes at Don Nicholson Stadium.

 Rachels had scoring throws of 82 yards to Zachary Chamberlin, 52 yards to Jacob Moon and 18 yards to Ryan Ender. 

Seth Owings had two rushing touchdowns for Manteca with Vincent Ferro, Rayshon Dozier each having one touchdown on the ground.

Chamberlin returned an interception for a touchdown. Kobe Shipley, Isaac Maldonado, Nic Antuna, and Rayshon Dozier helped led the Buffaloes defensive effort. 

 

Oakdale 40 Sierra 8

The host Mustangs took advantage of as mistake-laden performance by the Timberwolves at the Corral.

 Damon Duran had the lone score for Sierra.
