Jonathan Castenada scored three touchdowns and Jesus Gomez notched a pair of touchdowns in a 37-6 non-league junior varsity win for East Union over Bear Creek on Friday at Dino Cunial Field.   

 Castenada (10 carries, 62 yards) scored on 1-, 3- and 7-yard runs set up in part by the pounding rushing of Lane Cefalu (nine carries, 63 yards). Gomez plunged in a score from 1 yard out and hit Jorge Vasquez with a 30-yard scoring scoring pass.  

Castenada (blocked point-after kick), Cefalu and Daniel Mendes made four tackles each for the Lancers with Tyler Diaz and Christian Perez each making an interception.

 

Manteca 14,

Granada of Livermore 0

 After a scoreless first half, Aidan Nicolas raced for two second-half Buffaloes touchdowns – one nearly the length of the field at Guss Schmiedt Field.

Nicolas (nine carries, 129 yards) broke the scoring drought third quarter with a 91-yard scamper and added a 2-yard touchdown plunge in the fourth quarter. Victor Martinez added six carries on 49 yards and Krys Charles ran for 71 yards on six carries. 

Richie Garcia led Manteca with eight tackles followed by Dom Neuharth with six and David Vega with five.

 

Sierra 21,

The Timberwolves blanked the Panthers after the first period at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.

Sierra’s Jacob Allen had two carries for 85 yards and a touchdown. Sabastian Davis tallied 55 yards on five carries with a touchdown and Jacob Lopez scored a touchdown behind two receptions for 25 yards. Daniel Cavarubious tallied 51 yards on five carries and made two catches for 40 yards. 

Christian Threadgill (forced fumble) and Jacob Martinez led the Timberwolves defense with eight tackles each. Lorenzo Reyes added six stops, Cruz Richer made a momentum-killing interception deep in Sierra territory and Eric Fitch returned an interception 85 yards. 

 

Weston Ranch 47,

Franklin of Stockton 0

 STOCKTON – Aaron Jaimes and Nacho Gonzales combined for three touchdowns and more than 300 yards for the Cougars. 

 Jaimes had 174 yards and two touchdowns and Gonzales had 164 and one touchdown. Fidel Pitts and Rogelio Ruvalcava connected for 95 yards and two passing touchdowns.

 Zion Thomas, Ricky Sanchez, Jesus Gonzales and Favor Pitts were defensive standouts for Weston Ranch.

SUMMERVILLE – Cole Gemmell tallied three touchdowns for the Knights.

Gemmell ran for two touchdowns, gaining 95 yards on seven carries and he returned a punt 33 yards for a touchdown. Jake Grondz (five carries, 72 yards; two catches 16 yards) and Jaden Booth (10 carries, 71 yards) each ran for a touchdown and Lukas Van Groningen made three catches for 56 yards.

Micah De Jong led Ripon Christian with nine tackles followed by Jay Hoekstra with six and Zach Brouwer with five.

Caleb Johnson broke a fourth-quarter tie with a 2-yard touchdown run midway through the period with what proved to be the game-winning score for the Indians at Stouffer Field. 

 Austin Bonilla got Ripon on the board in the first quarter with a 35-yard run.
