Jojo Espinoza ran for one touchdown and threw for another Friday and Tealen Gaines scored two touchdowns to lead the visiting East Union sophomores to a 26-14 win over Sierra in Valley Oak League action at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium.
Espinoza (4 of 7 passing, 71yards; four carries, 71 yards) found Gaines with a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to make the score 14-6 and bumped the lead to 26-6 with a 44-yard touchdown in the third period.
Early in the second quarter Gaines gave the Lancers the lead for good when he followed the bone-crushing block of Anthony Anaya for a 35-yard touchdown on a punt return for a 13-6  lead. East Union’s Andrew Mount  (17 carries, 138 yards) started the game’s scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter.
Saul Contreras answered Mount’s touchdown when he pulled in a 22-yard pass from Gerardo Salcedo (43 yards passing, 37 yards rushing) to tie the score at 6-6 with 2:57 left in the first quarter. With 3:07 left in the game Frankie Vela caught a 24-yard pass from Miguel Sequeira to draw the Timberwolves within 26-14. 
Eduardo Jasso had 42 yards rushing for Sierra.
Gains and Santiago Sanchez each had an interception for the Lancers. Mount, Anaya, Marquise Higgins, Thomas Cann and Levi Huffman combined on nine sacks for the Lancers.
Myson Hosmer led the Timberwolves with 10 tackles. Eric Barron and Saul Contreras added six stops apiece, Dylan Fonseca and David Walker four each, Jasso three and Luis Vargas had a key sack.

The Buffaloes were led by the dominating offensive line of Austin Kivalahti, Geo Alvarez, Chandler Schneider, Tyler Brintley, and Isiah Pope.
A.J. Martinez, Chris Ortiz, and Jason Newell had two touchdowns apiece and Alex Gouveia added one touchdown for Manteca. 
Nic Creighton (seven tackles, forced fumble), Kivalahti and Jose Ceja led the Buffaloes
