David Villancento and Ramon Rivas each scored two touchdowns for Lathrop on Friday in a 32-0 Western Athletic Conference junior varsity win over visiting Pacheco.
Rivas gained 69 yards on nine carries with scoring runs of 2 and 8 yards. Villancento added a 2-yard touchdown run and he scored from 10 yards out after recovering a fumble.
Nathan Martinez made six tackles for the Spartans. Adrian Zuniga added five stops, Villancento four and three each for Andre Muqhar, Sean Teu and Hector Nunez.
Sierra 22, East Union 15
Tim Sargeson, Jesse Flores and Mario Juarez came up big for the Timberwolves on the final two plays of the Valley Oak League contest Thursday, repelling the Lancers on those two plays from inside the Sierra 5-yard line.
Trailing 15-8 at halftime, the Timberwolves scored the final 14 points of the contest. With 4:49 remaining in the third period, Victor Yamamoto (15 carries, 160 yards) drew Sierra within 15-14 on a 14-yard touchdown run.
With 4:17 showing on the fourth-quarter clock, Jessie Flores (nine tackles with five sacks) put the Timberwolves ahead 16-15 when he forced a safety and on the ensuing kickoff Yamamoto legged out a 62-yard return for the final score of 22-15.
After a scoreless first quarter Brock Felt (14 carries, 45 yards) got Sierra on the board with a 1-yard touchdown run early in the second period.
Anthony Morales (9 of 13 passing, 191 yards) and Blake Mount (five receptions, 123 yards) then combined on a pair of scoring plays with Mount pulling in touchdown throws of 14 and 40 yards for the 15-8 halftime lead for East Union.
Along with Flores, Mario Juarez led the Timberwolves with nine tackles. Yamamoto added seven tackles, Sargeson six, and Felt five. Taylor Rowe made three tackles and deflected three passes and Jonathan Lawas also contributed on defense.
Izik Quezada gained 69 yards on 10 carries for the Lancers and Robbie Espinosa tallied 57 yards on three receptions.
Jaden Gallego paced the East Union defense with 13 tackles. Brandyn Sena added nine stops, Julian Perez seven with Damond Cunningham (interception) making three stops.
