Lathrops playoff hopes dashed by dominant Oakdale

OAKDALE — Lathrop was officially knocked out of postseason contention Friday with a thorough 62-0 thumping administered by Oakdale at The Corral.
The Mustangs (6-0, 8-1 overall) had seven different players score touchdowns and rolled to a 35-0 first-quarter lead in their tune-up for next week’s Valley Oak League championship showdown at Central Catholic.
Cameron Cherry piled up 118 yards and two scores on 12 carries, while Josh Jacobson contributed seven rushes for 81 yards and two TDs. Bronson Harmon added four carries for 55 yards and a touchdown. Marc Dickson connected with Hunter Falconi for a 29-yard touchdown on his only pass of the game.
Lathrop (2-4, 3-6) couldn’t get its offense going with Oakdale dominating time of possession. Michael Ramos was held to 40 yards on eight carries, while Sebastian Iniguez had 37 on four attempts.
