Brody Carabello threw for three touchdowns and ran for two Friday to lead Manteca to a resounding 47-0 Valley Oak League junior varsity win over visiting Sierra at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Carabello (7 of 11 passing, 135 yards; six carries, 88 yards) posted scoring throws of 5 yards to E.J. Johnson, 32 yards to Kendhal Sweet-Mallory and 43 yards to Brixton Menchaca-Ortiz (two receptions, 55 yards) and ran in scores from 5 and 66 yards. Bode Hiatt (two receptions, 41 yards) added a 1-yard scoring plunge and Johnson (four carries, 50 yards) scored from 21 yards out.
Isaac Fountain blocked a punt and made three tackles for the Buffaloes. Isaiah Fountain and Hiatt added four tackles each.
Oakdale 29, East Union 27
A fourth-quarter, two-point conversion for the Mustangs proved to be the difference in the game at The Corral.
East Union’s Max Abrew (197 yards passing) threw touchdown passes of 3 yards to Caden Miller (51 yards receiving) and 9 yards to Ryder Tomkins (52 yards receiving). Miller added a 9-yard scoring run and Adrian Sena (36 yards rushing) scored on a 1-yard plunge.
Nathan Bettencourt paced the Lancers defense with nine tackles. Ryder Tompkins and Noah Germann added four stops apiece, Darrion Brown three and Urijah Lopez an interception.
Lathrop 38, Ceres 13
Jaylen Santos and Keonie Green ran for two Spartans touchdowns apiece in the Western Athletic Conference win.
Santos (eight carries, 113 yards) scored on runs of 10 and 22 yards and added another touchdown on a 65-yard punt return. Green (five carries, 58 yards) posted touchdown runs of 15 and 33 yards. Green returned an interception 50 yards to set up a touchdown.

Blake Scalise threw for two Buffaloes touchdowns and caught another Thursday at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Scalise (5 of 8 passing, 129 yards) hit D’Angelo Riego with scoring throws of 36 and 70 yards and pulled in a 56-yard scoring pass from Riego. Santino Sanchez (eight carries, 60 yards) added touchdown runs of 7 and 15 yards, Isaac Estrada scored on a 37-yard run and Bryant Lewis returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown. Ethan Sereno added 40 yards on five carries.
Manteca’s Zack Behrbaum made six tackles and an interception, Bryant Lewis (forced fumble) and Isaac Estrada five apiece; Sanchez (fumble recovery) and Eli Velasquez four each; Jacob Hernandez (forced fumble), Devyn Carrillo and D’Angelo Riego three apiece and Jaxon Hetrick a fumble recovery.
Lathrop 35, Ceres 0
The Spartans posted 23 points in the second period at Bennie Gatto Field.
Four different Lathrop players scored. Devin Cortinas (47 rushing yards, 189 all-purpose yards) scored on a 71-yard punt return and a 71-yard run, Ruben Maldanado (109 rushing yards) added a 7-yard touchdown run, Tre Jackson (63 rushing yards) ran in a score from 18 yards out, and Jonathan Jackson chipped in a 16-yard scoring run.
Jason Massey helped lead the Spartans defense to its third shutout of the season with five tackles, Cortinas added four and Jordan Cabral contributed to the defense.
