Manteca Buffaloes dominates Spartans

Dom Rea scored five touchdowns for Manteca on Thursday in a 72-12 shellacking of visiting Lathrop in freshman Valley Oak League action at Guiss Schmiedt Field. 

Rea had two carries and they both were for touchdowns from 8 and 47 yards out. He had two receptions and both of those were touchdown catches from Ryan Ward (3 of 5 passing, 92 yards, three touchdowns) of 25 and 42 yards. Rea rounded out his scoring parade with a 50-yard punt return. Ryan’s other touchdown  throw was for 25 yards to Isaac Searcy. 

Tyler Garlets was 2 of 3 passing for 67 yards with a touchdown run of 3 yards and a scoring throw of 41 yards to Nacho Vera. The Buffaloes added two long touchdown runs of 51 yards from Jacob DeJesus and 54 yards from Evan Ott.  

Gabe Ramirez had two sacks for Manteca with DeJesus, Vera, Frank Davis and Isaac Searcy each making an interception.

Sergio Villanueva had a hand in both Spartans touchdowns – he pulled in a 7-yard pass from Daniel Navarro in the second quarter and he threw a 53-yard scoring pass to Elijah Becerra as time ran out in the second half.

Absent A 23-yard first-quarter field goal by Mateo Garcia-Moran, the Timberwolves could not get on track in the road loss. 

Victor Murillo was 7 of 14 passing for 53 yards with an interception for Sierra. Steven Eaves had two receptions for 37 yards and Francisco Murillo eight carries for 24 yards 

Nicco Cedolini had five tackles for the Timberwolves with Nyco Mendoza adding four stops and Robert Clift three.
