OAKDALE — Six different Oakdale players found the end zone, and the Mustangs did all of their damage in the opening half of their 47-10 throttling of Weston Ranch on Friday.
Zeke Saffar highlighted the barrage with a 60-yard touchdown run, finishing with 108 yards on just four carries. Max Moore plowed his way to 46 yards and a pair of scores.
Adam Haley, Evan Waite and Josh Creech contributed touchdown runs for Oakdale (2-0 Valley Oak League, 5-1 overall), and quarterback Hayden Knittel (5 of 10, 66 yards) hit Anthony Martinez for a 12-yard TD toss.
Weston Ranch (0-1, 1-4) got some early momentum when Miguel Ramirez converted a 34-yard field goal to close in 6-3. The Cougars didn’t strike again until Atlantis Gholston connected with Andrew Williams (five catches, 67 yards) for a 27-yard play with 2:12 left in the game.
Peyton Bradford (two sacks, fumble recovery), Angel Penenurri (2.5 sacks) and Carson Frazee (interception) led Oakdale’s stifling defense.
