Manteca seniors Gino Campiotti and Ferrin Manuleleua have been named All-Valley Oak League MVP and Outstanding Defensive Player, respectively, and East Union junior Levi Huffman is the Utility Player of the Year.

Campiotti and Manuleleua are two of four third-year starters for Manteca to make the all-league list, joining first-team offensive tackle Kyle Reis and first-team defensive lineman Justin Kakala.

The Buffaloes (5-2 VOL, 12-3 overall) placed third in league but avenged one of their losses with a 34-17 win over Oakdale in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III championship game. Their season came to an end this past Saturday in the CIF Northern California Division II-A Regional Bowl Game, dropping a 28-23 decision to St. Francis.

Campiotti goes out as Manteca’s all-time leading passer and a two-time SJS champion. The VOL’s 2016 Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year put up astronomical numbers in his senior campaign, throwing for 12 touchdowns and running for 10 more in four SJS playoff games. For the season, he unofficially finished with 3,194 yards and 37 touchdowns against just six interceptions while completing 63 percent of his passes. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound gunslinger also rushed for 599 yards and 15 scores.

His best game in league came in Week 9 at Sierra, where he torched the Timberwolves for 269 yards and five touchdowns — in a half. Manteca won, 63-0.

Manuleleua is a three-time all-league first-team selection and was Manteca’s leading tackler. The 6-foot, 220-pound inside linebacker recorded three of his four sacks in the Buffaloes’ 60-14 rout of Weston Ranch.

Huffman ended as the second-leading rusher with 560 yards and six touchdowns in East Union’s balanced attack. He was also among the team’s leaders in tackles and sacks. The Lancers (4-3, 7-4) placed fourth in league and qualified for the section playoffs for the second straight year.

Central Catholic running back Dauson Booker (1,838 yards, 25 TDs) and Oakdale tackle Nico Sarale are Co-Outstanding Offensive Players. Oakdale’s Trent Merzon is Coach of the Year.

Three Manteca players occupy four wide receiver spots on the all-league team. Presley Keltner (37 receptions, 664 yards, seven TDs) earned first-team honors, while sophomore Jacob DeJesus (57-736-6) and junior Jorge Cedano (47-624-6) made the second team.

Lathrop running back Michael Ramos is an all-VOL first-team selection after compiling a Manteca-area high 1,425 yards to go with nine touchdowns. He set a program record with a 388-yard, four-score effort against Weston Ranch and could have easily eclipsed the 400-yard mark if not for a penalty on a long touchdown run.

Manteca safety Kyle Rachels is on the all-league first team defense for a second straight year, and is joined by outside linebacker Rayshon Dozier. East Union’s Mason James is the all-league punter.

Weston Ranch junior quarterback Amier Bowen highlights all-league second-team selections from the area. He broke his uncle Josh’s single-season passing record with 2,556 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Other area standouts on the all-VOL second team: East Union RB Raylen Carter, Manteca OT Mateo Fernandez, East Union OT Jaysen Reindel, East Union OG Nick Sims, Lathrop OL Luis Rivas, Sierra OL Isaiah Lee, East Union ILB Alex Alexander, Lathrop ILB Ayiende Dukes, Manteca OLB Caden Ramsey, Lathrop OLB, Alec Rodriguez, Lathrop DL Stanley Becerra, East Union DL Eli Andrews, East Union DB Andrew Sena, Lathrop DB Justin Manuel and Manteca DB Matt Ender.
