STOCKTON — Weston Ranch scored three times in the first half Friday and that was all the Cougars would need to defeat visiting Kimball 20-0 and claim their first Valley Oak League victory this season.
“It was a big win,” Weston Ranch coach Seth Davis said. “It was much needed to turn it around and finish the season strong.”
James Walker (13 carries, 145 yards) scored on runs of 36 and 62 yards for the Cougars (1-5 VOL, 4-5 overall). Bryant Bowen (eight carries, 96 yards) added a 22-yard touchdown run.
Weston Ranch’s Malik Vega-tatum was 5 of 8 passing for 78 yards and Elijah Harper made three catches for 55 yards. Walker and Harper each had an interception.
Felicity Pitts made history for the Cougars as the first girl with a carry in a game, gaining 5 yards on her one attempt.
