For Ripon Christian it was a perfect bounce-back performance.

The Knights suffered an emotionally-draining loss to cross-town rival Ripon High in their last contest, but put the loss behind them in a one-sided 47-0 blowout of the Big Valley Christian Lions Friday in preseason action.

Ripon Christian (2-1) had no problem exposing Big Valley, getting a monster showing from junior running back Andrew Brown. Brown closed with 180 yards on just six carries, scoring a pair of touchdowns in the win.

Quarterback Dan Vos also got in on the action, tossing for a game-high three touchdowns on 6-for-6 passing. Vos also converted on five of the Knights’ extra points.

Ripon Christian took an early 12-0 lead after a quarter of play and continued to add from there. The second quarter the Knights put it away, scoring 21 points to take a 33-0 lead into the half. They would add a pair of touchdowns in the fourth quarter to get the final.

Clayton Blankers recorded 14 tackles to pace the defensive unit, also recording two sacks as well.

Brandon Dotinga hauled in three passes for 75 yards and two scores from Vos.

The Knights will try and open Southern League play on the right foot, playing host to the Mariposa Grizzlies Friday in the SL opener for both squads. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
