The North/South Rotary All-Star Football Classic, played annually in Chowchilla, will feature Ripon High players for the first time.

Sponsored by the Ripon Rotary, one of 33 Rotary Clubs in the Central Valley that participate, linebacker T.J. Flores, offensive lineman Conner Jones and tight end/receiver/defensive end Jake McCreath were selected for the 27th installment of the game. It takes place Friday, June 29 at Chowchilla High. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m.

Proceeds of the event go to scholarships awarded to all-stars boasting grade-point averages of 3.5 and higher. Since 1992, 123 all-stars each earned $1,000 scholarships. Five past North-South Rotary all-stars have played in an NFL Super Bowl.

The Ripon trio played a big part in the Indians’ 8-3 finish last fall, the school’s best in over a decade. All three players were selected to the all-Trans-Valley League and Manteca Bulletin All-Area teams.

Flores led Ripon with 102 tackles. McCreath caught 36 passes for 565 yards and nine touchdowns and was named the TVL’s Receiver of the Year.
