Brody Carabello threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more to lead Manteca to a convincing 43-22 non-league junior varsity football win over visiting Grant on Thursday at Guss Schmiedt Field.
Brody Carabello (6 of 7 passing, 129 yards; 17 carries, 147 yards) had touchdown passes of 23 yards to Bode Hiatt (three receptions, 57 yards), 22 yards to E.J. Johnson (nine carries, 69 yards) and 36 yards to Camden Rogers. Johnson added a 2-yard touchdown run.
Isaac Fountain made three tackles for the Buffaloes, Isaiah Harding-Ahmed recovered an onside kick and Isiah Fountain contributed to the defense.
East Union 43, Johansen 0
Lancers linebacker Nathan Bettencourt had a monster game with 26 tackles in the East Union road win on Friday.
Max Abrew (196 yards passing, 54 yards rushing) paced the Lancers offense with 50- and 67-yard scoring passes to Urijah Lopez and one of 52 yards to Ryder Tomkins. Lopez returned an interception 48 yards for a score, Elias Lopez added a 1-yard scoring plunge and Adrian Sena scored on a 4-yard run.
East Union’s Jacob Ramirez and Rico Ramirez made six stopes apiece and Darrion Brown five. Caden Miller made two interceptions and Kaleb Schulze contributed on defense.
Ripon Christian 28, Calaveras 6
Jax Booth led the Knights to the non-league road win with three rushing touchdowns.
Booth (nine carries, 165 yards) scored on 1-, 15- ad 6-yard touchdowns. Stadtler Postma (5 of 7 passing, 111 yards) hit Talen Tameling (three catches, 68 yards) with a 17-yard touchdown pass.
Tameling tallied nine tackles, Jack Schaapman seven, Noah Costa six and Booth five.

The Spartans scored a variety of ways in their non-league road win.
Ruben Maldonado got the Lathrop scoring parade started with a touchdown run on the game’s opening drive. Devin Cortinas added a punt return for a score and Jonathan Jackson tallied a strip and score to cap the day’s scoring.
The Spartans defense swarmed the Tigers all night, forcing multiple turnovers.
