LE GRAND — Ripon Christian is a win away from wrapping up the first perfect regular season in program history.
Team captains Michael Kamps and Drew Van Vliet anchored the Knights, who locked down Le Grand’s prolific ground attack in a 49-0 shelling Friday night. Ripon Christian (6-0, 9-0 overall) secured at least a share of the Southern League championship, and it hosts winless Delhi next.
The Knights tallied their second shutout in three weeks. Kamps rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns while aiding the defense with an interception. The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Van Vliet totaled two sacks and forced a fumble that led to Wyatt Van Vliet’s 30-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the opening quarter. Defensive back Sean McGovern contributed nine tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery to go with 54 receiving yards.
Quarterback Cade Alger finished 12 of 15 for 172 yards and a 19-yard touchdown to Jacob Van Groningen. Van Groningen also completed 2 of 3 passes and hooked up with Ian Vrieling for an 18-yard score and tallied five conversion points.
Ripon Christian outgained Le Grand (2-4, 3-6), 368-98. Bulldogs workhorse Tony Garcia was limited to 19 rushes and 34 yards. He went into the contest with 1,473 yards on 213 carries.

Los Banos 42, Lathrop 7
LOS BANOS — Justin Incaprera amassed 279 yards on 29 carries and scored the first four touchdowns for Los Banos (5-1, 6-3 overall), which can earn a Western Athletic Conference co-championship with a win over rival Pacheco next week.
