ROUNDUP: Sierra prevails in high-scoring affair at Modesto

 Sierra’s Zak Willson threw for five touchdowns, and Brock Felt scored three Friday as the Timberwolves outlasted host Modesto 62-48 in non-league action.

Willson starting the scoring parade with an 18-yard touchdown toss to Santana Stevenson followed by scoring throws of 15 and 20 yards to Taylor Rowe, 17 yards to Trevor Sutton and 65 yards to A.J. Chapman.

Brock Felt scored on runs of 40 and 81 yards and on a 31-yard interception return and brock Reyes added a 24-yard touchdown run.

The Timberwolves improve to 2-1 and the Panthers drop to 1-2.

Sierra travels to Sacramento next Friday night to take on Sheldon at 7:15.


Manteca 46, Laguna Creek 7

The game saw a running clock the entire second half with the Cardinal (1-2) scoring late in the contest.

Nikko Juarez scored two rushing touchdowns for the Buffaloes (2-0) while Josh Mellion added two touchdown catches. Preston Smith threw two touchdown passes, Owen Gully added one touchdown throw while Elijah Stevenson chipped in one touchdown run and Cam Navarette kicked a 40-yard field goal.

Manteca’s Eddie Anthony, Ruben Moreno, Kyrin Barajas and Maava Tialavea each had an interception.

The Buffaloes host Marin Catholic next Friday at 7:15 p.m.


Patterson 37, Lathrop 17

The Spartans (2-1) got their two touchdowns in the second period.

Pablo Pena (17 carries, 99 yards) scored from 3 yards out, and Andre Muqhar (14 carries, 96 yards) added a 8-yard touchdown run. Angel Barajas-Elizondo gave the Spartans an early 3-0 lead with a 40-yard field goal.

Lathrop’s Sean Teu made five tackles and Pena four.

The Spartans host Pacheco next Friday at 7 p.m.
