Sierra dominates LHS frosh

Sierra put up 34 first-half points and coasted to a 48-20 non-league win over Lathrop at Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

 Marcelo Morales (10 carries, 164 yards) scored five touchdowns for the Timberwolves on runs of 5, 21, 25, 48 and 48 yards. Jeontay Berry (five carries, 80 yards) added touchdown runs of 28 and 35 yards and Nikko Nunez picked up 54 yards on six carries.

 Ben Wheeler led Sierra with seven tackles and Ryan Torres added six stops.

Luis Hernandez (8 for 23 passing, 190 yards) hit Andres Cisneros-Pena (two catches, 49 yards) with a 15-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter for the Spartans to tie the score at 6-6. Hernandez spotted Jason Seabron (six receptions, 153 yards) for a 9-yard scoring pass in the third period and Amario Valdovinos (17 carries, 104 yards) capped the night’s scoring with an 6-yard run in the fourth quarter.

 Lathrop’s second score was set up with a fumble recovery by Ralf Corla (three tackles). Valdovinos (three tackles) forced a fumble with Luis Herandez and Christopher Subia both recovering a fumble. Noah Martinez and Seabron each made four tackles.

Manteca 32, Tracy 6

 Khalid Robinson and Joel Yuson combined for three touchdown and more than 260 yards rushing for the Buffaloes who scored a touchdown in every quarter at Guss Schmiedt Field.

 Yuson (five carries, 140 yd; 2 for 4 passing, 50 yards) had touchdown runs of 2 and 60 yards. Robinson (11 carries, 122 yards) scored from 2 yards out and Cory Franklin (seven carries, 64 yards) added an 18-yard scoring scamper.

 Yuson made seven tackles with Jose Rios, Cory Franklin and Omar Villanueva each chipping in with five tackles.
