RIPON — Trevor Facey scored on a 72-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, and North Section powerhouse Sutter rolled to a 36-6 win Friday over Ripon at Stouffer Field.
The Huskies (3-1) piled up 402 yards in three quarters, with Facey accounting for 135 of them on the ground. He added 44- and 11-yard touchdowns, and Sutter scored all of its points in the opening half. Running back Bryce Kunkle scored in the onslaught.
“They came out and hit us on the very first play for the touchdown and the kids went down a little bit,” Ripon coach Chris Musseman said. “That’s why the first half played out the way it did. At halftime, we talked about finishing it right and the kids really responded well and I’m proud of them for that, but it was overall a tough night.”
Ripon had the ball for the entire fourth quarter with a running clock. Jacob Gahm scored the Indians’ only points with a 4-yard scamper.
Ripon was held to just 117 yards rushing with nearly half of it coming in the fourth period. Gahm finished with 42 yards on seven carries, while Riley Machado and Dylan Sexton had 29 yards apiece, while quarterback Ryan Daggett completed six of 10 passes for 33 yards.
Ripon heads into its bye week with a 3-2 record and begins Trans-Valley League play at Mountain House (4-1) on Oct. 6.
