YOUTH FOOTBALL: Ripon Knights varsity falls to Kingsmen in Trans Valley play

MODESTO – The Modesto Christian Kingsmen varsity downed the visiting Ripon Knights 45-24 Saturday in Trans-Valley Youth Football League action at Roy Blakely Field.

 Ripon’s Anden Ries racked up 84 yards rushing with touchdown runs of 12 and 35 yards. Jace Beidleman had 73 yards passing with an interception, Carson Sanders pulled in 73 yards receiving and Ethan Schenk was 3 for 3 on two-point conversion kicks.

 Chase Bogetti (three tackles) scored for the Knights on a 60-yard interception return. Sanders made eight tackles, Jacob Camper seven, Rey Galindo six and Cote Windorski four with a fumble recovery.

 

Junior varsity

Kingsmen 48, Knights 12

 The Knights suffered their first loss of the season.

 Ripon’s Hunter Steele rushed for 95 yards with a touchdown and Konnor Kibler had a 52 yard touchdown reception from Nate Cedoloni.

 Mario Garcia (fumble recovery) and Eddie Ramirez each had 12 tackles for the Knights followed by nine from Steele, six from Chase Bunnell and a forced fumble by Brady Rossi. 

 

Novice

Knights 12, Kingsmen 7

 With one second showing on the fourth-quarter clock Ripon’s Gavin Decena scampered 50 yards for a touchdown, giving the Knights a thrilling come-from-behind win.

 Decena gained 90 yards on 10 carries. Landon Corcoran had nine carries for 51 yards and a touchdown and Kaeo Sanchez ground out 26 yards on seven carries. The offensive line of Wyatt Prime, Dylan Parker, Jesse Walker, Alex Rader, and Joe Hernandez did a great job opening holes.

 The Ripon defense was led by Mason Durao,  Jax Booth and Sanchez with seven tackles apiece. Landon Corcoran added six stops, Nate New four and Luke Mckiernan three.

 

MVFL

Ripon Chiefs Varsity 36, Tuolumne Bears 0

Kaden MacDannald scored three touchdowns for the Chiefs.

 MacDannald (13 carries, 97 yards) scored on runs of 13 and 45 yards and on a pass of 60 yards from Garrison Reis (4 of 8 passing, 116 yards, touchdown, interception.) Frank Techeira IV (eight carries, 41 yards) had a 4-yard touchdown run and Jesus Ochoa returned an interception 18 yards for a score. Xzavier Clark and Brock Felt also contributed on offense. 

 MacDannald (interception) and Reis made five tackles apiece. Ty Herrin (fumble recovery) and Teicheira IV had four tackles each, Rylan McDonald, Eli Buck, Skylar Ortiz and Felt each made three tackles and Clark, Canaan Clark and Marcus Atienza two apiece. Austin Wood and Gideon Waters also contributed on defense

 Xabriel Reyes gained 91 yards on nine carries with a touchdown for Ripon.

 Gavin Duran, Kaiden Romero, Ace Dougherty, Jacob Dood helped the Chiefs offense as did lineman Zach Thomas, Jayden Costa, Jarrod Smith, Nikolai Vitz and Mason Buck.

 Ripon’s Kaiden Romero made 12 tackles and Reyes (fumble recovery) six. Anthony Tiechera recovered an onside kick.

Chase Rainer, Joshua Baliel, Jayden Delatorre and Ivan Godina all played well on defense for the Knights.

 

DYFL

Chavez Jr. Titans Varsity 24, Manteca Chargers 6

Emilio Lopez made a 6-yard run up the middle for the lone Chargers touchdown.

Manteca’s Lauro Lupian Jr, made a 20-yard reception.

 Evan Greenwood had a 20-yard return on an interception for the Chargers and he made four tackles. Mario Juarez (fumble recovery), Andre Bonvillian and C.J. King made six tackles apiece, Jax Ballard four and Andrew Defrenchi three. Sean Davis also contributed on defense.

 

Junior varsity

Jr. Titans 46, Chargers 0

 Damariea Long had gained 55 yards on five carries for Manteca.

 Shane Foreman made an interception for the Chargers. Long and Chris Chavez made three tackles apiece, Aiden Rhine two with Isaiah De Los Santos and Keyshawn Bartlow both contributing on defense.

 

Novice

Jr. Titans 18, Chargers 0

 Manteca’s Roman Duvernay a forced a fumble and recovered two.

 Darien East and Nicholes Holt led defense for the Chargers.

 

Junior Novice

Jr. Titans 24, Chargers 0

 Jamie Buchanan and Zack Behrbaum teamed up for a big sack for Manteca.

 David Gloria stopped a long Titan run with a beautiful tackle. Buchanan and Junior Evans had numerous sacks for the Chargers. Behrbaum led the Manteca defense with five tackles, Josiah Law-Lartique and Evans had four each, Buchanan three and Tobias Cox two.

 

Cen-Cal Peewee

Merced Cougars 6, 

Manteca Raiders 0

 DeAndre Patterson had 38 yards and three tackles for the Raiders.

 Manteca’s Valentino Dominguez (seven tackles) and Danny Olaguibel (four tackles) each had 10 yards rushing. King Ward had two tackles and Santino Kantun a tackle and a fumble recovery.
