ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Zion Allen, Manteca track & field
Bulletin sports 2020-21

The Buffaloes junior is someone to look out for next spring as a potential qualifier for the California Interscholastic Federation State Track & Field Championships.

Allen ended the short 2021 campaign with a dominant effort in the Valley Oak League Championships held at Oakdale High on June 2, piling up three first-place finishes and a third.

He ruled the sprint events, winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes with wind-aided times. His 200 mark of 22.25 seconds is a new personal record, while the 10.95 in the 100 is three-tenths off his best.

In addition, he competed in both relay events, joining Domenic Favaloro, Jesus Lopez and Justice Chase to win the 4x100 in 44.27. Jonathan Solis and Ramon Archiga joined Allen and Favaloro for the 4x400, taking third in 3 minutes, 52.66 seconds.
