Ripon Christian dominated the first half of its non-league boys basketball game at Gregori on Friday but held on in the end for a 63-61 victory.
The Knights (5-4) started by making a flurry of 3-pointers, hitting eight en route to building a commanding 45-27 halftime cushion. They cooled off from there, totaling just eight points in the third quarter and getting outscored 21-10 in the fourth.
Eli Terpsma led all scorers with 23 points and knocked down three 3s. Justin Hofman added 12 points and was a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Luke Crivello sank three 3s in the first half and finished with 11 points.
Gregori (3-8) had four double-figure scorers, with Rayan Saleem and Dru Shafer accounting for 14 points apiece.
Ripon 60, Amador 19
The Indians (2-5) ended their five-game rut in convincing fashion in the Jackson Lions Club Playoff Preview consolation semifinal at Argonaut.
Ripon blasted out the gates to lead 19-4 after the first quarter and 41-8 at halftime.
“It was a good morale boost for us today,” Ripon coach Justin Graham said. “We had every single player score a bucket.”
Landon Gillespie led the way with 14 points, three assists and three steals. Marcus Madoski netted all 13 of his points in the first half and added four steals and a block.

East Union 75, Leadership 18
The Lancers (7-4) bounced back from their opening-day loss to Valley Oak League rival Kimball in the West Holiday Tournament in Tracy.
They took out their frustrations on Leadership Public Schools (1-6) of Hayward, shooting out to a 44-9 halftime lead.
“I challenged our team to take care of the ball each possession and to take pride on the defensive end,” EU coach Dutch Ell said. “They respondend.”
Anthony Sy paced the attack with 19 points, and Dylan Lee had 15.
GIRLS
Los Banos 31, Ripon 30
In the Patterson Tournament, Ripon (4-4) dropped a heartbreaker in which it battled back from a 19-10 halftime deficit.
The Indians were outscored 13-2 in the second quarter but continued to work well on the defensive end to give themselves a chance. They ultimately could not overcome poor shooting from the field (7-for-43) and the free-throw line (8-for-19).
Gabby Delgado led them with 17 points and five rebounds. Camila Curutchague and America Ordunez scored 13 and 11, respectively, for Los Banos (6-4).
Ripon concludes the tournament today against Central Catholic (2-10) starting at 12:30.
